Deep learning technology is starting to be used more widely for factory automation. It offers many advantages such as reducing application development time, solving challenging or difficult-to-program machine vision tasks that are currently performed by human inspectors.
Like any new disruptive technology, it is important to prove that it works and can be deployed at a large scale. Migrating from a lab or proof of concept environment to an industrial environment is often not so easy, pitfalls can vary, and it is important to have a structured roll out.
