With the aid of dual In-Sight® vision system cameras, MiniGraphics ensures that the outserts they print are attached to the correct medicine bottles. To meet FDA mandates drug companies are required to attach two outserts (Part A and Part B) to medicine bottles, one for the pharmacy and one for the patient. Each outsert contains a Data Matrix code that In-Sight reads to ensure that Part A is in fact Part A and Part B, Part B. In-Sight performs all image capture, processing, recognition, comparison and decision functions prior to involving the PLC or PC. Once it is determined that each part has the correct code, In-Sight sends a “go” signal to the PLC through a discrete digital I/O line.
