Fast and accurate optical character recognition and verification
In the food and beverage industry, date/lot codes are required on all products in order to identify when and where a product was made. Items are marked early in the production process for quality control and traceability. Codes are printed on individual packages, as well as on boxes and cases. Date/lot codes combine 1-D symbologies and plain text to encode information about the batch and manufacturing date. Quality inspections must verify that date/lot codes are present and have been printed correctly to ensure traceability and more easily manage recalls.
The In-Sight 7000 vision system with OCRMax optical character recognition (OCR) technology detects the presence or absence of the date/lot codes, and verifies that its chain of numbers and letters is correct.
