Vision-guided robotic arms commonly pick-and-place individual food items in their secondary packaging, such as forms, trays, cartons, or boxes. A robotic arm must distinguish between different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures to select the correct product on the line. Slight anomalies amongst items make sorting tasks harder. Machine vision technology identifies and communicates the location of an item on the conveyor to the robotic arm, which uses this information to pick it up and place it in its package.

The In-Sight 8000 vision system successfully identifies products on the line to help robotic arms pick-and-place them. Powerful PatMax RedLine pattern location technology solves even the most difficult pick-and-place applications, locating items regardless of orientation based on their distinct size, shape, and design. The In-Sight 8000’s powerful processing guides multiple robots simultaneously for high-capacity packaging. The compact size of the In-Sight 8000 series makes it possible to mount in areas with space constraints.
