Missing Item Inspection
Machine vision inspects packages for missing items to ensure completeness
Manufacturers must detect missing items and verify the completeness of final packages before they are distributed, in order to avoid costly returns and damage to their brand. During secondary packaging, food items are wrapped and packaged in their final form. Quality inspections confirm the presence or absence of items before they leave the facility.
Cognex vision sensors perform pass/fail inspections and trigger a rejection when a faulty item is detected. The In-Sight 2000 performs a simple count of the objects in a package, passing or failing packages based on the programmed value. The In-Sight 2000 verifies that all bottles are present in a shrink-wrapped twelve-pack package, helping beverage manufacturers error-proof their operations and maintain customer satisfaction.
