Granola Bar Quality Check

Improve quality and production efficiency with 3D measurement of food products

Challenge:

Ensure granola bars are intact and of the proper dimensions before packaging

Solution:

To check that each granola bar is the right size and of good quality, a 3D Displacement Sensor was installed to take dimensional measurements of each bar as they are being cut. The scan allowed for a visual check as well as a volumetric measurement.

Results:

Costs were reduced by identifying defective granola bars before being packaged. The manufacturer was able to prevent bad granola bars from going into the market, thus increasing the quality of their products.
