Cognex Adds New Color Offerings to PC-Vision Systems
Natick, MA, February 12, 2007—Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ - CGNX), the world's leading supplier of machine vision systems and vision sensors, today announced new color capabilities for the popular VisionPro® PC-vision systems. The new color offerings include dedicated tools for color sorting, color identification and color monitoring. These tools provide robust, reliable color detection in the most challenging automated inspection and quality assurance applications.
"Cognex vision tools improve yield and productivity at many stages of production," said Kris Nelson, Cognex Senior Vice President, Factory Automation. "Now, manufacturers can achieve similar gains in other applications where color inspection is required."
Color machine vision inspection is critical in a wide range of industries for many tasks. It can be used in the food industry to detect spoilage, determine the fat content of meat products, or sort fruits and vegetables by type or ripeness. It allows beverage manufacturers to verify label, cap and product color, or pharmaceutical manufacturers to identify tablets and capsules of similar sizes and shapes. Automotive manufacturers use it to match the color of interior plastic parts and to verify use of proper components, such as connectors and wires.
VisionPro is the PC-based system of choice for system integrators, machine builders, OEMs, and advanced manufacturing engineers. In addition to rapid application development, VisionPro provides PatMax®, the premier object location software and other industry leading vision tools. VisionPro supports a wide range of acquisition hardware to offer an extensive range of price and performance options for virtually all types of image capture.
