Accurate and repeatable part and feature location technology
Fiducial alignment is essential to printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), during which a PCB is populated with electronic components including resistors, connectors, and ball grid arrays. Because fiducials serve as the reference position during PCB assembly, it is critical for OEMs to be able to extract and locate them accurately and repeatedly.
Cognex PatMax technology uses geometric information to locate fiducial marks during screen printing, glue dispensing, mounting, automated optical inspection (AOI), and flying probe testing. PatMax is fast, robust, and highly accurate under a variety of conditions so that it is able to achieve precision alignment.
