Vibratory Bowl Feeders You make the rate let Vision Sensors handle the part orientation

Over the years I have had many discussions with engineers who integrate them in manufacturing lines and the one part that seems to be the most time consuming and painful is ensuring the components are being fed in correct orientation. Engineers can spend hours grinding metal to form catch points to solve this problem mechanically.
Vision Sensors are a great alternative because they can be set up in minutes to recognize and reject components coming from the feeder in the wrong orientation. What makes Checker 4G Series Vision Sensors unique is Cognex’s Patented Part detection technology which enables Checker to detect incorrectly oriented parts without the need for an external trigger or signal at rates up to 6,000 parts per minute. Simply show Checker an example of an incorrectly oriented part and Checker will then detect those parts and assert an output to divert them. Take a look at the example below. The one on the left is travelling in the wrong orientation and the one on the right is in the correct orientation. The green box indicates that Checker has detected the component in the wrong orientation despite the fact that it is touching one travelling in the correct orientation.
In addition to orientating parts in vibratory bowl feeders, Checker allows you to verify it is the correct part, identify defective parts and even count parts to monitor feed rates.
