Think about optical filters first as you design your vision application

If you know a little about machine vision, you understand that using optical filters is critically important to getting better, more consistent inspection results from your vision system. The key to using optical filters to control light is knowing when and how to use them.
The time to think about filters is at the design stage of your inspection application. A common pitfall for many machine vision users is waiting until the inspection application has already been set up to think about optical filters. At that point, you likely have an unforeseen problem that you’re trying to solve and you could have saved time and hassle by testing filters with the vision system before deploying the inspection application.
