Reduce cost and increase throughput for logistic hand sorting applications
Logistics facilities manage inventory from suppliers by routing received goods to a specific destination or storing them. Goods are tracked and sorted using 1-D and 2-D barcodes located on various sides of packages and often need to be read in rapid succession using the same barcode reader. Manual pick applications, such as pick-to-light, put-to-light, and pick-and-pass, use fixed-mount presentation scanners to scan barcodes and verify that the item in hand matches the order. Barcode readers also determine the route and final destination of the item in hand. Other manual order fulfillment applications use handheld barcode readers to ensure codes are read quickly and accurately. High read rates at hand sorting locations are important to each of these barcode reading applications to lower labor costs and improve throughput.
